Ironing the school uniforms and work clothes yesterday it had finally dawned on me that the half term was very nearly over, but we had a fun week on the cheap, and had 3 good days out all for under £60.
I love half terms or any school holiday for that matter, as I'm off work as well as having the girls at home. Normally this time of year we just stay in,the girls watch endless amounts of films, while I use the time to catch up on housework, doing all them shit jobs that I don't normally have time to do after work. But none of this work starts until we have a mammoth lay in, until about half nine. Please don't come at me with your pitch forks, I have been blessed with two very good sleepers from a young age, don't ask me how. Anyway none of that happened this week,we got up early and done what was need to be done cleaning wise, the girls are now at a age where they can do little thing for me like make their beds and washing up or helping to load the washing machine, and we met up with our friends from school.
We first went too a place called Black park, its woods with a massive lake in the middle, and a park and cafe. I had some kind man offer me a parking ticket as its all day parking so would of had to pay £2.50 for that. We decided to take the dogs with us,although mine decided to be sick in the car on the way so out went the car mat (not whilst I was driving though). She also decided to break her lead, by pulling too hard. Luckily it was at the end of our walk.

The next we went to a place called Jump In, it is an indoor trampoline park with individual trampolines and foam pit, an amazing idea to keep the kids entertained and burn of energy but these places never seem to have enough parking so I went and parked up the road even though the girls moaned at me. As it take a while to book seven kids in, our times were changed several times as it was so busy, in the end the kids had to have a 2 hour wait to be able to jump. I lost count how many time I heard "I'm bored" or "is it time yet?" But when they did have their hour they did thoroughly enjoy it. This was £14.50 for both girls as we had a buy one get one free voucher, I did also had to pay for socks in with this price but you do get to keep them so it is a one off price for them.
Next was Odds farm, We haven't been to a farm in years I honestly thought the girls were too big,but how wrong was I. They loved looking at all the animals especially, the baby ones that were only a few weeks old like the mummy pig feeding her piglets.
We decided to get monthly passes that worked out to £23 a month for 3 of us. Normal admission costs £13.50 for adults and £12.50 for child which would come to £38.50 for just one visit. So as long as we go at least once a month we are saving. The other mums have passes so we are planning to try and go on a Friday after school. So even if the weather is rubbish the kids can play on the soft play, which is huge. The slides on the other hand are petrifying with one that is a vertical drop and another that isn't far off. I'm so glad that I wasn't the only one that was shit scared, the girls said "no way!". So we got our mats and went on the wavy slide which was much more scaredy cat mum friendly.
Here is a low done on what we spent on our three days out, we only paid for drinks as we had food at home before we came out
Black park FREE
Jump In £14.50
Odds farm £23.00
On Friday we did arts and crafts at home including finially finishing upcycling Amelia's jewellery box which will be featured in our next blog post.
